“THE PROTAGONIST” - Living (2024)

This artwork is the result of multiple images/artworks/photos
in a digital collage which is made of several layers, techniques and styles.
It features a female character (who I like to call “my protagonist” as has been the central theme for a few different artworks)). The scar-like tattoos on her face, also a few symbolic and powerful words written on it are representing her streetwise personality and the challenges she has overcome.
She now offers wisdom and empowerment!
It’s an expressionistic composition with a lot of abstract elements and an urban backdrop as the portrait is surrounded by tall buildings envisioned in
New York City, although the messages passed apply to the whole world regardless of the name of the country.
The artwork exudes a sense of liveliness and optimism passing messages of valuable importance.
The overall composition consists of vibrant and pastel colours, particularly in shades of red, orange, pink, blue, yellow and more, highlighting “my protagonist’s” resilience and strength.
Her eyes are …speaking!
The lips remain prominent, adding contrast and depth to the overall composition.
The woman’s resilience and her ability to rise above adversity is the theme of this piece of artwork.
It’s also open to your imagination, interpretation and however resonates with your perception.
